From Cockpits to Closings: Jason Anderson’s Journey from Apache Pilot to Real Estate Innovator

Jason Anderson is no stranger to the military life. Growing up, he dreamed of flying helicopters, driven by a passion for the thrill and a deep sense of service. This aspiration led him to join the Army, where he served from 2012 to 2020. His military career took him across the globe, starting with his first duty station in South Korea. Not long after, he was deployed to Afghanistan, where “loss became a sobering reality,” as Jason puts it. Throughout his career he faced the heartbreaking loss of fellow soldiers and good friends to both training accidents and the perils of war. Frequent helicopter accidents and ramp ceremonies began reinforcing the gravity of service and sacrifice.

Through these experiences, Jason learned that the flag represented more than just a symbol of the nation; it embodied the essence of home. As long as he served under that flag, he felt a profound connection to his family and his country. When he transitioned from the Army in 2020, having served as an AH-64D Apache helicopter pilot, Jason turned to a new career: real estate.

To some, the transition from the adrenaline-filled skies as an Apache pilot to the grounded world of real estate might seem incongruous. However, Jason saw it differently. His military life, marked by constant relocations, fostered an appreciation for the concept of home. This passion drove him to ensure that every house he handled became a true home, especially for military families.

Upon becoming a real estate agent, Jason quickly identified challenges unique to military families in the home buying and selling process. Often, military spouses handle moves single-handedly while their partners are deployed or on duty. Jason understood these struggles firsthand, having moved nine times in eight years himself.

VeteranPCS: Bridging the Gap for Military Families

Recognizing a gap in the market, Jason founded VeteranPCS. As he explains, "I spent eight years in the Army as an AH-64D Apache Helicopter Pilot. I moved 9 times between PCS moves and deployments and after transitioning out I entered into a new career as a real estate agent. I quickly realized real estate can be an expensive industry to get into. Many sites cost hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars per month to help grow your business. And with fewer reviews to show than others, it can be impossible to be found online, despite being a great agent."

The difficulties of finding a trustworthy real estate agent while dealing with military orders led Jason to create VeteranPCS. This platform is dedicated to serving both agents and military families navigating Permanent Change of Station (PCS) moves. Unlike other real estate services, VeteranPCS exclusively features veterans and military spouses who have transitioned into real estate careers. Every agent on the site comes recommended by military families who have personally experienced their service.

VeteranPCS operates without charging annual or monthly fees. Instead, the platform collects a small percentage of the commission, redistributing it to military families and supporting non-profits and charities. This model ensures that the focus remains on providing value and trust.

Supporting a Greater Cause

VeteranPCS is committed to making a difference. Ten percent of all proceeds go directly to veteran outreach programs and military-focused charities. This dedication to giving back underscores Jason’s ongoing commitment to service, even after his military career.

Moreover, by eliminating monthly fees for agents, VeteranPCS helps veterans and military spouses grow their businesses, offering them a supportive and equitable platform.

Community Impact and Alignment with wear blue: run to remember

Jason’s dedication to service extends beyond his professional life. Since 2022, he has been an active participant in the wear blue: run to remember events, proudly joining the Colorado Springs run community. Jason and the VeteranPCS team are staunch supporters of the Gold Star Youth Mentorship Program, reflecting their commitment to honoring and supporting the families of fallen service members. This alignment between VeteranPCS and wear blue underscores a unique partnership focused on ‘home’. Jason explains, “When I heard about wear blue it just made sense. Leaving home for training and deployments is inevitable in the military, but the one thing that binds us all together is that we look forward to coming home. Serving, honoring, and remembering the ones who don’t make it home is deeply important to the military community as a whole. Every Agent and VA Loan expert on VeteranPCS is fellow military and understands this unique bond.”

VeteranPCS supports the mission of wear blue: run to remember and is a generous contributor to the cause. The organization has donated funds to the Gold Star Youth Mentorship program and presented a check at the 2023 and 2024 Memorial Day event, where Gold Star and surviving youth have completed a 5K in honor of their fallen loved one.

Community Impact

VeteranPCS was designed to make a difference in the lives of military families. By connecting clients with fellow veterans and military spouses, VeteranPCS ensures a trustworthy, empathetic approach to real estate. This is military families helping military families move, fostering a supportive community and making every new place feel like home.

In essence, Jason Anderson’s journey from the cockpit of an Apache helicopter to the real estate market is a testament to his enduring dedication to service. Through VeteranPCS, he continues to support the military community, ensuring that every military family finds a home, and every veteran and military spouse has the opportunity to thrive in their new careers.
