Community Runs
The cornerstone to achieving wear blue’s mission is the Community Run, a weekly no-cost run or walk hosted by wear blue volunteers. Each gathering begins with our Circle of Remembrance - a moment of silence followed by going around our circle, clockwise, calling out the names of fallen service members that we hold in our hands and that we hold in our hearts. wear blue honors and remembers ALL service members, regardless of their cause of death. After our Circle, our communities step off on a self-paced run or walk. It is a place of connection, support, and healthy living for athletes of all abilities.
Run in Community. Honor the Fallen. Live Inspired.

Why the Community Run?
To provide a positive social support system, access to healthy coping mechanisms, and a stable, positive community, the Saturday Run exists to support our military, veteran, and surviving families. These casual gatherings are held in dozens of locations around the world, featuring a Circle of Remembrance and community run or walk. The Saturday Run community serves as a support system for our military units and a connection between the currently serving forces and their surviving families and supporting communities. The entire community sends our service members to war. The Saturday Run is a place to gather in shared remembrance, appreciation, and support.
Military families navigate a challenging world, with frequent moves, a dynamic and dangerous work environment, and the challenges of reintegration after frequent deployments.
Traumatic Brain injury has been identified in 19% of returning troops, depression in up to 25% of our troops, and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder in up to 31% of our troops.
Service members who believe that they have positive social support have less intense PTSD symptoms. While the service member wears the uniform, the entire family serves.
