LTG (Ret) Tom James Jr.
Chairman
Actively serving since 2023Lieutenant General (Ret.) Tom James, Jr. retired in 2021 after 36 years of service in the Army, commanding units from platoon to Field Army level. He led over 15,000 soldiers at Joint Base Lewis-McChord and later managed operations for U.S. Forces Korea. Tom now serves as a Senior Mentor for the Army’s Mission Command Training Program and consults through Connected Leadership LLC.

Mary Goebel

Actively serving since 2024Mary Goebel is the Executive Chief of Staff to the LifeCo President, leading workforce planning, employee experience, and the LifeCo People Strategy. With over two decades of leadership experience at LifeCo and USAA, she has driven strategic planning, operations, and financial governance. She resides in San Antonio, Texas, with her husband and three children.

Michael Grayum
Past Chairman
Actively serving since 2018Michael Grayum lives in Tacoma with his family and is a results-driven leader with experience in public, private, and non-profit sectors. He serves as City Manager for one of Washington’s fastest-growing cities and is a managing partner at Pando Consulting Group. He has held roles as Mayor, City Council member, and senior executive for state agencies.

Dr Wendi Waits
Secretary
Actively serving since 2023Dr. Wendi Waits is a retired Army psychiatrist, board certified in general, child, adolescent psychiatry, and lifestyle medicine. With 31 years of service, she supported survivors of the Pentagon attack, deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, and treated military families. She is the Medical Director for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at TriWest Healthcare Alliance, and lives in Hawaii, enjoying outdoor activities and the beauty of the islands.

Mona Dexter

Actively serving since 2025Mona Dexter is the Vice President of Military and Veteran Affairs at Comcast NBCUniversal, leading initiatives that promote digital opportunity, workforce development, and community impact. With extensive experience in leadership, nonprofit management, and federal service, she also serves on the USO Global Advisory Council and chairs the VA’s Veterans' Advisory Committee on Education. A military spouse for over 25 years and a proud mother of a U.S. Army soldier, Mona is deeply committed to supporting military families.

Stacy Miller

Served from 2018 to 2024Stacy is a military spouse to a now-retired U.S. Army officer. She is a passionate advocate for the military, veterans, and their families. She is a Partner with Bright Investments, a Certified Financial Planner™, and has a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in finance.

Jessica Alley
Board Member
Served from 2018 to 2022Jessica is a military spouse to a now-retired U.S. Army Officer and has always felt a deep drive to serve those in the military and veteran community. She attended her first wear blue run at the JBLM Flagship chapter in March of 2011 and has been involved with the organization ever since, serving in several leadership roles as well as a Board member for four years. She currently oversees the Alumni leg of the Gold Star and Survivor Endurance Program, ensuring wear blue's support of the families of the fallen continues. Jessica is a Scrum Master with SMX and lives in Stafford, Virginia, with her husband and four children.
