BECOME A MENTEE
GOLD STAR YOUTH MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
What to expect:
Matches are formed based on common interests, led by the youth’s priorities, hobbies, and military interests. The youth mentee will be matched with a mentor that will empower the child through active coping mechanisms, positive encouragement, and healthy connections to a life of military service. Mentors undergo an extensive screening process to include a federal background check, and a one on one interview.
Youth Requirements:
The program accepts Gold Star and Surviving Youth, K-12th grade, who lost a parent or sibling due to their military service.
Participate throughout the duration of the program.
All abilities are welcome.
Additional Perks:
Each youth mentee will receive a new pair of running shoes, wear blue apparel, opportunities to participate in additional fun sponsor events, and memories to last a lifetime.
What is the impact?
An active-duty mentor is ready to journey through life with you—to help you grieve, grow stronger, and find purpose. You'll step up as an athlete at the starting line, embracing movement, fresh air, friendship, the life of a soldier, and the joy of conquering goals together.
